(February 17, 2023) Tonight's $12,000
to win penultimate event of the 'DIRTcar Nationals' at Volusia Speedway
Park was rained-out during heat race action. Before the rain hit
at the Barberville, Florida facility, Dale McDowell had qualified
third fastest in Group A during World of Outlaws Case Construction
Late Model Series time trials and had just won his loaded heat race.
The remainder of the program will not be rescheduled and the 'DIRTcar
Nationals' will conclude with Saturday's $20,000 to win grand finale.
(February 16, 2023) The World of
Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series roared into Volusia
Speedway Park to sanction a $10,000 to win affair tonight at the
Daytona Beach-area speedplant. Dale McDowell timed in second quickest
in Group A during the qualifying session before securing a victory
in heat race action. After drawing the third starting spot before
the drop of the green flag in the 30-lap sprint, Dale slipped to
sixth by the unfurling of the checkered flag to finish behind only
winner Bobby Pierce, Brandon Overton, Tim McCreadie, Chase Junghans,
and Hudson O'Neal.
(February 15, 2023) The talented
'DIRTcar Nationals' field at Volusia Speedway Park was split into
three groups tonight, as triple 20-lap features were on the racing
card for the DIRTcar Super Late Models. Dale McDowell stopped the
clock ninth quickest in his group during qualifying, which lined
him up starting the $5,000 to win feature from the inside of the
fifth row. Unfortunately, Dale was an early retiree in the contest
and was relegated to a disappointing sixteenth place effort.

later secured an impressive heat race triumph. After drawing the
fifth starting spot before the drop of the green flag in the 25-lap
feature, the "MacDaddy" raced hard for a top five showing
in the contest before eventually slipping to sixth at the checkers
to trail only $7,000 victor Tim McCreadie, Bobby Pierce, Hudson

Georgia star had bagged the $12,000 first place prize money ahead
of Rice, Chris Madden, Garrett Smith, and Brian Shirley!
In other action during the long week at the "Big

in his B-Main, which narrowly kept him out of his 25-lapper. In
Saturday's $55,000 to win 'World 100,' the Dirt Late Model Hall
of Famer placed sixth in his heat race, third in his B-Main, and
eighth in the 100-lap headliner after rolling off from the inside

off on Friday night with a $5,000 to win preliminary program. Dale
ran second in his loaded heat race prior to advancing up to seventh
in the 30-lap feature. When Saturday rolled around with a whopping
$50,000 first place prize on the line, Dale blasted all the way

before settling for a third place podium effort behind only victor
Jonathan Davenport and runner-up Hudson O'Neal! Complete results

Dale McDowell Lands
on Podium in $75,000 North/South 100!
(August
14, 2022) Next up on the racing calendar for the #17M team
was a visit to Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky from August
11-13 for the 40th edition of the 'North/South 100.' A pair of preliminary
programs were planned to kick off the action at the Cincinnati-area
facility, but a rain-out on Thursday scrapped the first of two $5,000
to win events. On Friday evening, Dale McDowell timed in third fastest
in Group B during qualifying, ran second in his heat race, and later
moved past four competitors during his 25-lap sprint. At the checkers,
Dale was credited for an impressive runner-up performance behind
only prelim victor Jonathan Davenport!
A huge standing-room-only crowd was then on hand on
Saturday, as all eyes at the historic venue were solely set on who
would capture the whopping $75,000 winner's check in the 'North/South
100.' Dale won his heat race in preliminary action and later rolled
off from the outside of the second row in the 100-lap crown jewel
headliner. The Chickamauga, Georgia Hall of Famer then ran as high
as second through different stages of the contest before winding
up third at the checkers behind only race winner Jonathan Davenport

McDowell Tames Taz for
$10,053 in Southern Nationals Finale!
(July
31, 2022) Chickamauga, Georgia Hall of Famer Dale McDowell
captured his sixth feature win of the 2022 racing season on Saturday
night, July 30 at the bad-fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee!
After stopping the clock fourth quickest in Schaeffer's Oil Southern
Nationals Series time trials, Dale ran second in his heat race to
earn the outside of the second row for the 53-lap feature event.
The popular driver known as "MacDaddy" then took advantage
of leader Dakotah Knuckles’ misfortune with a lapped car to
inherit the point on the forty-first circuit. From there, Dale led
the rest of the way in the ‘Ray Varner Ford 53’ to bag
the $10,053 payday over a top five that included runner-up Mack
McCarter, Ricky Weiss, David Payne, and Forrest Trent! Complete

#17M Team Treks West
to I-80 Speedway & Boone Speedway
(July
26, 2022) The Shane McDowell Racing (SMR) team ventured
west to I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska and Boone Speedway
in Boone, Iowa from July 21-25 for several high-profile events.
On Thursday night in a $12,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt
Series contest at I-80, Dale McDowell unfortunately just missed
out on the 50-lap feature after running fifth in his loaded heat
race and third in his B-Main. At I-80 on Friday evening in preliminary
action for the 'Silver Dollar Nationals,' Dale advanced to seventh
in his first heat race of the night, while he started and finished
second in his final prelim.
By virtue of earning the sixteenth most passing points
during preliminary action, the Chickamauga, Georgia ace rolled off
from the outside of the eighth row in the $53,000 to win headliner,
which was pushed back to Sunday night due to inclement weather.
Dale was unfortunately an early retiree in the 80-lap affair and
was ultimately paid for a thirtieth place performance. The hectic
stretch of racing was then capped off on Monday, July 25 with the
'Hawkeye 50' at Boone, which boasted a $20,000 payday. Dale was
not able to transfer into the World of Outlaws Case Construction
Late Model Series main event after placing seventh in his stacked
heat race and eighth in his B-Main. Complete results from each show

to win Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series opener on Friday
at Beckley Motor Speedway in Mount Hope, West Virginia, Dale McDowell

night at the sprawling Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia,
Dale timed in sixth fastest overall during qualifying before placing
third in his heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the
fifth row in the 53-lap headliner, Dale drove to the front of the

the qualifying session and later secured a victory in his stacked
heat race. After starting the 53-lapper from the pole position,
"MacDaddy" ran in the second spot for the first half of
the contest before once again taking the point from leader Jensen
Ford following the halfway mark. He got the lead on lap 34 and never
looked back in bagging another $10,053 top prize ahead of a top
five that included runner-up Ford, Mack McCarter, Sam Seawright,
