Five in 27th Annual Dirt Late Model Dream!
13, 2021) A very lucrative week at Eldora Speedway took
place from June 9-12, as a pair of 'Dirt Late Model Dreams' were
held at the storied Rossburg, Ohio oval. On Wednesday evening in
his Twin 25 preliminary program, Dale McDowell ran third in his
heat race prior to advancing up to seventh in his $10,000 to win
feature. At the "Big E" on Thursday, Dale ran second in
heat race action and later moved past a handful of competitors during
the 100-lap headliner to land in the fourth finishing position behind
only $127,000 victor Brandon Overton, Tim McCreadie, and Kyle Bronson!
The 26th Annual 'Dirt Late Model Dream' then took
center stage at the 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant over the weekend.
In Friday's $10,000 to win Twin 25, Dale grabbed the fourth transfer
spot through his heat race before running thirteenth in the 25-lap
sprint. All eyes in the pit area were then focused on capturing
the $126,000 payday on Saturday evening. "MacDaddy" finished
fourth in his stacked heat race, won his B-Main, and later blitzed
up to tenth by the conclusion of the 100-lapper. Full results from

1, 2021) Dale McDowell and Shane McDowell Racing (SMR)
celebrated their second Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals Series
Championship - worth $10,053 - on Monday, May 31 following the miniseries
finale at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tennessee! Dale was ultra-consistent
in the nine series races, as the Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer amassed
one victory to go with an astounding nine Top Five finishes. In
Monday's annual $10,052 to win 'Scott Sexton Memorial' at 411, Dale
won his heat race in preliminary action before steering his familiar
#17m machine to a strong fourth place performance in the 52-lap
headliner behind only winner Jimmy Owens, Randy Weaver, and Ashton
Earlier in the Memorial Day holiday weekend, Dale
chased $4,053 paychecks at both Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia
and Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia. On Saturday evening at Dixie,
the Chickamauga, Georgia ace timed in fourth fastest in Group B
during Spring Nationals qualifying before climbing to fourth in
the 40-lapper to finish behind only race winner Randy Weaver, Brandon
Overton, and Austin Horton. At Rome on Sunday night, Dale posted
the quickest time in Group A during the qualifying session and led
the first eight circuits of the feature before suffering an untimely
flat tire. "MacDaddy" then rallied from the tail to salvage
a fifth place effort behind only victor Tyler Millwood, Donald McIntosh,

at Boyd's; Third at Smoky Mountain!
9, 2021) The Shane McDowell Racing (SMR) team found themselves
in competition at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia and Smoky
Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee over the May 7-8 weekend.
On Friday night in a Southern All Stars Racing Series (SAS) event
at Boyd's, Dale McDowell won a consolation race, started eighth
on the grid in the $5,000 to win main event, and later passed six
cars during the 50-lapper to land an impressive runner-up performance
behind only victor Michael Page.
At Smoky Mountain on Saturday evening, a $10,053 top
prize was on the line in a Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals Series
shootout. Dale, who is the current miniseries point leader, clicked
off the fastest lap in Group B during qualifying, won his heat race,
and eventually landed on the podium in third after 53 green flag
feature laps behind only race winner Jimmy Owens and runner-up Brandon

in victory lane for the first time in 2021 on Friday night, April
30 at Crossville Speedway in Crossville, Tennessee! Dale posted
the fastest time in Group B during Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals
Series qualifying and later led all forty circuits in the A-Main
to pocket the $4,053 payday ahead of Donald McIntosh, Jensen Ford,
Will Roland, and Brandon Williams. In a $10,053 to win Spring Nationals
shootout on Saturday evening, May 1 at Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville,
Tennessee, Dale set Fast Time in qualifying, won his heat race,
and later wound up fourth in the 53-lapper behind only race winner

Series program officially rained-out at Mountain View (TN) Raceway,
the #17m team entered one lone event over the weekend on Friday
night, April 23 at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, North Carolina.
Dale McDowell qualified fifth quickest in Group A during the qualifying
session to lock himself into the inside of the fifth row in the
$4,053 to win 'North Carolina State Championship.' Dale then blasted
past six competitors during the 40-lapper to land on the podium
in third behind only race winner David Payne and runner-up Cory
Hedgecock. "MacDaddy" stretched out his current Spring
Nationals point lead with the strong performance at the 1/4-mile

both the I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tennessee and the Smoky Mountain
Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on April 16-17 for a pair of special
events. On Friday night at Sweetwater in a $5,053 to win Schaeffer's
Oil Spring Nationals show, Dale McDowell earned Fast Time honors
during the qualifying session and later led the first 22 circuits
before winding up third and on the podium behind only race winner
Brandon Overton and runner-up Michael Page. At Smoky Mountain on
Saturday evening in a $5,000 to win Southern All Stars Dirt Racing
Series (SAS) contest, Dale started the 40-lap headliner from the
outside of the front row prior to slipping back to fourth at the

4, 2021) Dale McDowell and the #17m SMR team traveled to
the bad-fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee on Saturday,
April 3 for the inaugural running of the 'Lil Bill Corum Memorial.'
The Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals Series sanctioned the single-day
shootout at "The Taz" and a whopping $21,000 top prize
was up for grabs. Dale got into the wall during his qualifying effort,
but was still able to lay down the seventh quickest time in Group
B. After placing third in his stacked heat race, Dale rolled off
from the outside of the fifth row in the 75-lap main event. Against
the stout field in the feature, "MacDaddy" drove past
six competitors en route to a sterling fourth place performance
behind only race winner Jonathan Davenport, Kyle Larson, and Tyler

Cherokee Prelim; Rock Gault Memorial Washed Out
28, 2021) Shane McDowell Racing (SMR) made their way to
Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina on March 26-27 for
the richest event in the history of the renowned speedplant. The
World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series presided over
the 'Rock Gault Memorial,' which started on Friday with a pair of
split-field, $5,000 to win preliminary events. Dale McDowell timed
in eleventh fastest in Group B during qualifying prior to finishing
third in his stacked heat race. After drawing the pole position
before his 25-lap feature and leading the first 23 circuits, Dale
wound up placing a strong second behind only victor Brandon Sheppard!
The lucrative two-day program was then scheduled to
conclude on Saturday evening with the 'Rock Gault Memorial' finale,
which was set to pay out a whopping $40,000 top prize. Unfortunately,
inclement weather during the afternoon forced track and series officials

7, 2021) For the first time since their "Speedweeks"
finale, the #17m team returned to the racetrack on Saturday, March
6, as the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series sanctioned
the annual 'Tennessee Tipoff' at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville,
Tennessee. An impressive field of 51 competitors piled into the
pit area to do battle for the $12,000 top prize. Dale McDowell posted
the thirteenth fastest lap in Group A during qualifying before placing
fourth in his stacked heat race. Following a B-Main triumph, Dale
was able to work his way past seven competitors during the 50-lap
finale to earn a respectable twelfth place performance. Full results
